Announcements

People:

o Dr. Protas and Dr. Raimer presented at the Texas Society of Allied Health Legislative Summit on January 6^th in Round Rock in preparation for the new legislative session.

o Dr. Jose Rojas, Associate Professor has returned to Respiratory Care.

o Occupational Therapy welcomes new faculty Amit Sethi, Ph.D., O.T., Assistant Professor.

o Physical Therapy welcomes Wendy Herbert, Assistant Professor.

Education:

• We are continuing to develop new program proposals for a Master’s in Nutrition and Metabolic Science, a Master’s in Health Professions, and a Master’s in Clinical Laboratory Science.
• We have received final plans for the build-out of space in the former Pharmacology Building from the SHW Group. Plans are to move into the space by this time next year.

Quality and Service:

• We are beginning our budget planning process for FY 2012 and 2013.

Community:

o Dr. Utsey escorted a group of physical therapy students to Miraflores, Lima, Peru with the Baptist Student Ministry to provide multidisciplinary medical care to the underserved Dec. 27^th through Jan. 2^nd.
