Remembering the 15 Fund

Dr. David N. Herndon treats a BP survivor

Remembering the 15 Fund supports delivery of state-of-the-art clinical care to adult burn patients treated in the Blocker Burn Unit at the John Sealy Hospital in Galveston, Texas.

The fund was established with in connection with the settlement between Eva Rowe, 22, who lost parents James and Linda Rowe in a 2005 explosion, and BP Products North America Inc. Rowe has established a Web site, www.evarowe.com to help raise the $2 million in philanthropic contributions that BP will match dollar for dollar.

The challenge grant – a vital complement to the Remembering the 15 Endowed Fund, established through an additional commitment of $12.5 million by BP – recognizes that the infrastructure for patient care is vital to the on-going effort to devise new clinical tools and care delivery techniques for the treatment of adult burn patients.  UTMB will use these funds both for education and research aimed at reducing mortality for those with the most severe burns, and to improve and expand the clinical facilities where these new approaches can be tested.

Make a contribution to the Remembering the 15 Fund. On the form, select "Remembering the 15 Fund" from the options available under the "Extending a Helping Hand" initiative. Thank you for generous support.
