Dr. G. S. Raju

          Title: Professor of Medicine; Director of Endoscopy, Co-Director of Ctr for Endoscopic Research, Training, and Innovation (CERTAIN)

Biosketch

Dr. Raju joined the University of Texas Medical Branch in 2001. Dr. Raju graduated from Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam, India in 1982 with honors. After completing his medical residency at the PGIMER, Chandigarh and Gastroenterology fellowship at the Delhi University, India (1989), he served as a clinical and research registrar in Gastroenterology in Rotherham, UK (1990-93). He came to this country in 1993: completed internal medicine residency at the Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland (1993-95), gastroenterology fellowship at the University of Iowa (1995-97), and therapeutic endoscopy fellowship at the Harvard Medical School, Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Boston (1997-98), and joined faculty of University of Kansas, Kansas City (1998-2001) as the director of endoscopy and assistant professor of medicine.

Dr. Raju was elected to the Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians, London, UK in 2004. He was also a fellow of the American College of Physicians and American College of Gastroenterology. He was listed in the Best Docs of America.

1. Development and evaluation of novel technology in endoscopic diagnosis and therapy.

2. Development of novel techniques for endoluminal therapy
