  • The Editor-in-Chief of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy inivited Dr. Raju to serve as the CME Editor for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy starting from January 2005. Working closely with a group of distinguished gastrointestinal endoscopists in the USA- Manoop Bhutani (UTMB), John Vargo (Cleveland Clinic), Todd Baron (Mayo Clinic), and Allan Weston (KUMC), serving as co-editors, this group will be developing the CME section of the journal for the first time in its history.

  • Congratulations to Dr.Sajid Jalil who won an award from Drexel University, Philadelphia to attend a GI conference there Oct 1-3, 2004.

  • Dr. Willemijntje Hoogerwerf received the Pilot/Feasibility Grant from the Gulf Coast Digestive Disease Center on "The Role of Prokineticin in Gastrointestinal Motility".

  • Dr. Ned Snyder, III - Dr. Snyder's paper "The APRI is a Good Predictor of Hepatic Fibrosis in HCV, and May be Enhanced by the Insulin Resistance Index (HOMA-IR): A Prospective Study" was selected for the opening Plenary Session at the American College of Gastroenterology Annual Meeting and Postgraduate Course, November 1, 2004. A poster presentation by Dr. Darrell Finlay and co authored by Dr. Karen Szauter, Dr. G.S. Raju, and Dr. Ned Snyder, III, has been chosen as an American College of Gastroenterology Presidential Poster Award Recipient. The poster is titled "Tuberculous Peritonitis in a Patient Treated with Infliximab".
