J536 Conference room The GCRC Conference Room (J536) is 479 sq. feet and is equipped with a retractable, overhead projection screen, two wall-mounted network data jacks, a ceiling-mounted network data jack, network data/video jack, analog phone line (for teleconferencing), a jack for the campus television system, two data projectors; an older 640 x 480 InFocus unit and a new Sony VPL-PX11 unit. J5A Outpatient Exam roomOutpatient facilities in J5A comprise an outpatient nursing station, six exam rooms, which are configured for general and specific use, and a waiting room. Some specific uses of the outpatient exam rooms include provision for eye exams (J5A3), phlebotomy and screening (J5A4), pelvic exams (J5A5), and pediatric patient exams (J5A7). These rooms can be used for general purposes as well. Outpatient exam rooms J5A6 and J5A8 provide for general medical exams.

The Informatics Core offices (J511) house three computers configured for specific and general uses and a secure server room.

J5B Inpatient Nurse Station The Inpatient Unit located in J5B provides eight private inpatient rooms, two of which have negative-air flow for infection control. Six of these rooms are single rooms with private baths. Two rooms share an ADA (wheelchair) accessible single bathroom. There are two large procedure rooms that can also be used for outpatient procedures and pharmacokinetic studies. A break room for staff and a laundry room for patients is in this area also. 

Sleep Study room The GCRC Sleep Laboratory consists of one room (5B5) for research sleep studies. 

 
J530 Metabolic Kitchen The Bionutrition has expanded kitchen and storage space in response to increasing demands for research dietary services. The dining area for research subjects can be directly observed from the kitchen. J535 Core Lab The Core Laboratory (J535) is 400 sq. feet and is supplied with a computer workstation comprised of three desktop computers, –80 upright freezer, emergency shower with eyewash, full height refrigerator, centrifuge, clean sink, radiation sink, Forma Scientific 1184 Biological Safety Hood, SafeAir by-pass laminar flow flume hood with flammable and acid storage cabinets.
 

Donovan Randolph with patient in chamberThe Whole Body (K+) Counter is located in an adjacent building where the instrument could be housed in an iron-shielded room. The area consists of 1104 sq. foot, most of which is used for the counting room and for controlling instrumentation.
