Advisory Committee Resources     

 
Scientific Review Committee (SRC):
     The GCRC SRC is the subcommittee of the GAC charged with reviewing all GCRC protocols for merit and suitability. It also recommends approval and prioritizes these submissions. It holds scheduled monthly meetings, timed to coincide with the meeting of the Institutional Review Board (IRB).

 

GCRC Advisory Committee (GAC)

     The GCRC Advisory Committee (GAC) consists of 16 voting members, consisting of clinical department chairs and hospital or research directors. There are seven ex-officio committee members, which include the GCRC Program Directors, Research Subject Advocate, the Administrative Director and also the UTMB Vice President of Business and Administration and the Director of UTMB Office of Research Subject Protection.  The UTMB GAC meets at least quarterly to approve the actions taken by the GCRC Scientific Review Committee and to give strategic direction and administrative oversight to the unit.
