Cornelius Elferink, Ph.D.

Cornelius Elferink, Ph.D.
Assistant Professor
Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology

Cornelius Elfernik grew up in Australia and did his formal schooling there.  He received his Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Adelaide in Adelaide, South Australia in 1988.  He did his post-doctoral training at Stanford University in the Department of Molecular Pharmacology and then accepted a position in the Institute of Environmental Health Sciences at Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan.  Dr. Elferink was recruited to UTMB and the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology in 2001.  The GRIP Program was enthusiastic about supporting this recruitment because of Dr. Elferink's interest in cell cycle control and apoptosis.
