Dr.
Hongmiao Sheng was appointed as an Assistant Professor in the Department
of Surgery in 2002. He was recruited here from Vanderbilt University
where he had been since 1994. Prior to 1994, he was a Visiting
Scientist at UTMB, also in the Department of Surgery. While here
prior to 1994, Dr. Sheng worked with Dr. Mark Evers in the research group
on GI cancer. This work has developed into an independent research
career in signal transduction in intestinal epithelial cell proliferation
and transformation.
