Lauren Sheer received her bachelor’s degree in Government from the University of Texas at Austin in 2007. While attaining her degree she also worked for Representative Craig Eiland from 2004 to 2007 in his Capitol office as his Administrative Aide and later as his Policy Analyst. During the 80th Legislative Session, as a Policy Analyst for Representative Eiland, Lauren focused on the State budget and Appropriations. She concentrated on The University of Texas Medical Branch’s funding for education, health care, and correctional health care.

In August of 2007 Lauren joined the University of Texas Medical Branch Correctional Managed Care team as the Legislative Coordinator. Lauren has since joined the new office of Health Policy and Legislative Affairs, continuing her work as Legislative Coordinator and focusing on Correctional Managed Care. Lauren is responsible for legislative activities related to UTMB including state appropriations, and elected official and staff relations and awareness.
