The UTMB Identity System

Since 1891, the University of
Texas Medical Branch has served the people of Texas through its programs
of excellence in health science education, patient care and research.
Whether we are communicating about our initiatives internally or
externally, it's important that we do so in a way that is consistent and
effective. By ensuring that our visual communications — be they print or electronic — convey a cohesive image to
our many audiences, we help reinforce UTMB's reputation as a strong,
bold, enduring, innovative institution. This serves to enhance the
reputation of each of UTMB's many programs as well.
This guide highlights the
standards designed to help UTMB and its programs achieve a consistent
image in promotional materials produced for audiences both on and off
campus. It applies to such printed items as brochures, flyers, posters,
letterhead, business cards and newsletters; to web pages; to
presentations and displays; and even to building signs and university
vehicles.
From the President's Council:
We, the executive
leadership of the university, fully endorse this effort and ask that
each UTMB employee and department or entity leader assist us in
upholding these standards. Ultimately, the success of the institution
and its individual programs rests on UTMB's professional image and
reputation. We can all help reinforce that reputation by using the UTMB
name and logo properly. Our unique position in Texas health care
deserves a unique image — one that is created through consistent
application of these standards.
Thank you for your
attention to these guidelines — and thank you for all that you do for
UTMB.
