UTMB Identity System--Print Publication Standards

UTMB brochures UTMB print publications come in many forms: flyers, posters, brochures, newsletters, print advertisements, even letterhead and business cards. They serve to inform; they serve to promote. Some are meant only for UTMB employees and students. Others are targeted to external audiences. But all of them affect the university's image, both individually and when seen together. That's why consistency among printed pieces produced by and for UTMB is so important in the effort to create and maintain a cohesive image for the institution.

The goal of these standards is not to create a "cookie-cutter" approach to design, where one printed piece is identical to all others. Rather, these standards should be used to develop a family of publications that supports the overall institutional identity. This can be achieved through consistent application of the standards outlined here. Each member of the "family" may look slightly different, but the fact that all are tied to UTMB should be readily apparent. Ultimately, we want everyone who picks up a university publication or receives correspondence on university stationery to know who we are and what we're all about.
