UTMB Approved Typefaces

As with color, the typefaces used in university promotional materials help foster a consistent graphic look.

Avoid using more than two different typefaces in one publication. More than two typefaces can distract readers and detract from the message.

If you're creating a family of publications (a package of student recruitment materials, for example), consider using the same typefaces and type treatments in each for consistency.

The following approved typefaces, both serif and sans-serif,  have been chosen to complement the UTMB logo. Each computer on campus, whether Mac or PC, should have at least one of the approved fonts already installed, so there is no need for most users to purchase a special font:

Caslon, Times Roman,Palatino, Arial, Frutiger, Helvetica

A corresponding web palette that takes into account the special considerations of electronic media exists for university web pages. Visit the UTMB Web Page Standards for more information on recommended typefaces for the web.
