Membership

Members of the Institute for Human Infections & Immunity are University of Texas Medical Branch faculty actively engaged in the study of infectious diseases and immunity. View IHII faculty member profiles 

Faculty Membership in the IHII:

(1) UTMB faculty are members of the Institute if they are members of the Sealy Center for Vaccine Development, the Center for Biodefense and Emerging Infectious Diseases, or the Center for Tropical Diseases. Other UTMB faculty who have demonstrated research interests related to infection and immunity may establish membership in the IHII upon application by sending the following items and information to Marcela Rubio at mlrubio@utmb.edu:

  • Your CV
  • A brief (50 words or less) statement of research interests
  • Keywords related to your research (optional)
  • A web link (URL) to your departmental profile page or to your lab website
  • A photo, preferably high resolution

(2) Scientists who are actively engaged in studies related to infection and immunity at other institutions, upon nomination by a member of the IHII and approval of the Executive Committee of the IHII.

Associate Membership in the IHII:

(1) Pre-doctoral students, postdoctoral fellows and research scientists working in the laboratories of members of the IHII are eligible for Associate Membership in the IHII.

(2) Pre-doctoral students, postdoctoral fellows, research scientists employed at UTMB may apply for Associate Membership in the IHII by forwarding a letter to the IHII office indicating their reasons for desiring associate membership in the IHII, accompanied by a current CV.

(3) To ensure that the Institute maintains an accurate list of associate members, IHII members should provide the IHII office with a list of their current laboratory members no later than August 15 of each year.
