Prior to joining the faculty of Texas State University, Amanda was a lecturer and the residency coordinator at the University of Houston-Clear Lake. While a student at UTMB her field of studies included health-care ethics and health policy. Her master's degree is from the George Washington University in Health Services Administration. While in Washington D.C., Amanda worked on Capital Hill. Her teaching and research interests include long-term care and minority access to health-care services.
