Stacey is currently employed as an Associate Professor at Drake University Law School in Des Moines, Iowa. She teaches Introduction to Health Law, Law and Bioethics, Mental Health Law, Elder Law, HIPAA Privacy, Public Health Law and Policy, and Complementary and Alternative Medicine and the Law.

Stacey's research interests lie in the areas of confidentiality and privacy; health care ethics, including neuroethics and research ethics; and the history of medicine, including the history of midwifery and mental health care.

Stacey's favorite class at the Institute was "Psychoanalysis, Consciousness, and Neuroethics," taught by Dr. Winslade. She particularly enjoyed interpreting her classmates' dreams while receiving course credit.
