One piece of advice that Robin would give to current students who are about to embark on completing their dissertation is "to acknowledge your fears about the process and product and then put them aside to make your contribution.” “And most importantly – set the date!”

Robin received her BS from the University of Maryland - College Park in 1995 and her MA in Bioethics from the Medical College of Wisconsin, 2002. For six years, she taught secondary science in both Hawaii and Southern California and says she learned immensely from the various perspectives of her students. Robin believes that the evolution of technology in medicine has created many problems that should be addressed in a multidisciplinary manner. She joined the doctoral program in Medical Humanities in Fall 2002.
