UTMB’s Physical and Occupational Therapy Clinic in Texas City has moved. Effective Nov. 4, the clinic has been relocated to the Community Family Center facility, Suite 100, 2000 Texas Ave., Texas City. The new location offers comfortable surroundings, patient privacy and improved accessibility with ample handicapped parking to better serve patients. Voting made easy
Voters in Galveston County have a new place to vote in today’s election – UTMB’s main campus in Galveston.  Anyone registered to vote in Galveston County may vote at the polling place  -- a first for UTMB -- on the first floor of Rebecca Sealy, located on Eighth Street, between Post Office and Market streets, from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Nov. 5. Voters will be required to show government-issued identification, such as a driver’s license or passport, in order to vote. Brown elected state pediatrics chairman
UTMB’s Dr. O.W. “Skip” Brown has been elected chairman of The Texas Pediatric Society, the Texas Chapter of the American Academy of Pediatrics, for a three-year term. Brown is past-president of TPS — a state professional nonprofit organization of 2,800 Texas pediatricians and 250 medical students. The goal of the society is that all children in the State attain their full potential for physical, emotional and social health. Brown is medical director for the Pediatric Specialty Center at Bay Colony and associate professor of pediatrics in the division of general academic pediatrics.

Diabetes support group
There will be a pot luck supper and recipe exchange at this month’s meeting of the UTMB diabetes support group on Nov. 11. The group meets from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on the second Monday of each month in Suite 9 of the UTMB Multispecialty Center and Stark Diabetes Clinic, 2660 Gulf Freeway South in League City.
