of unsponsored, chronically ill patients

By John Koloen

AUG. 31, 2007--Beverly C. Dowling has been named interim assistant vice president for Community Health Networks at UTMB.

Dowling has been with UTMB since 1992. Her most recent position was leadership of the Demand Access Management Program office. She has a degree in general management and is a certified public accountant. Over the years, she has been active in the Galveston community, serving as a board member of the American Cancer Society. Her husband, James, is a resident in family medicine and a graduate of the UTMB medical school. The couple has three daughters.

“Among her responsibilities is positioning UTMB's clinical enterprise to more efficiently and effectively managing the health of unsponsored patients with chronic illnesses,” said Dr. Ben G. Raimer, vice president and CEO of Community Health Services. “Working with the faculty group practice and the clinics, patients will be screened for enrollment in a case management program designed to maximize patient care in the outpatient setting.”
