Welcome to the UTMB-CIRT computer virus information center. This center is updated by the our Internet Gateway Anti-virus provider, F-Secure and our desktop AV solution provider, Microsoft Forefront

Protect yourself and UTMB from viruses by following these 4 simple steps.

  1. Ensure that your PC is up-to-date with the latest security patches.
  2. Ensure that your anti virus is running and the signature files are up to date
  3. Never open an e-mail attachment from someone you don't know.
  4. Avoid opening an e-mail attachment from someone you know, unless you know exactly what the attachment is. The sender may be unaware that it contains a virus
Home PC Anti Virus Virus Search

UTMB's anti-virus (AV) license agrrement is extended to the home User. All facualty, staff and students can install and use the Microsoft ForeFront anti-virus on personal computers free of charge.

AV software can be obtained by contacting the Office of Information Security at 409-772-3838 or by sending an email to iso@utmb.edu.

Limit is one copy per individual.

Virus descriptions are arranged in alphabetical order. Choose a listing of viruses whose name start with the following letters:
