Enter the hospital through the main entrance (with large circular driveway)
Take the first elevators you see (on the left) to the 5th floor
Turn left off of the elevator

You will pass another bank of elevators and will continue straight through the double doors into John Sealy Annex (the hallway has an orange stripe on walls)
Once you reach the end of the hall, turn right
The Division of Cardiology will be down the hall on your right (5.106 John Sealy Annex)

he doom of the Texas Capitol
The doom of the Texas Capitol completed in 1888. UTMB is one of the six University of Texas health institutions and actively collaborate with other 5 institutions—UT Southwestern Medical Center, UT Health Science Center at Houston, UT Health Science Center at San Antonio, UT M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, and UT Health Science Center at Tyler.

 

Global Health

The UTMB Center for Global Health Education (CGHE) is dedicated to the training of tomorrow's global health work force to improve health for the people of Texas and around the world. Check out their website for more information on the global health programs and education going on in our department.

The department of internal medicine is developing evidence based clinical protocols which will be available in EPIC (as order sets) for use when admitting patients with these diagnoses. Their AIM is to standardize care and decrease length of stay and readmission rates.

Currently available protocols are:

  • Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD)
  • Diabetic Ketoacidosis Adult, ICU
