Application Information

UTMB participates in ERAS and NRMP for all residency applications. No paper applications will be accepted. Requirements include:

  1. Dean's letter
  2. Chairman's letter
  3. USMLE scores
  4. Recommendation letters

Applications can be submitted starting September 15th. The Deadline for applications is October 15th. We encourage applicants to submit their information through ERAS as soon as possible so we can schedule interviews. Invitations for interviews are offered from the beginning of November until the end of January.

With each invitation, applicants will receive information about a welcome meeting the evening before their interview, directions to the university, contact information, and accommodations if required. Our interview days include meetings with the Program Director, Assistant Chiefs of Services and various faculty as well as attendance in Morning Report and a tour of the facilities. The applicant will also get ample time to meet with current residents from all years of training over lunch, and are encouraged to ask questions at any time.
