Since the moment we opened our doors in 1891, UTMB has met—and conquered—many challenges. On the morning of Sept. 13, 2008, one of our greatest challenges arrived in the form of Hurricane Ike. Thanks to the extraordinary efforts of UTMB’s many dedicated employees, we are already turning to the task of returning the university to its place as one of the country’s leading academic health centers. Our people are working diligently to restore our facilities and equipment so that we can resume classes, research activities and patient care in the weeks ahead.
We persevere, because to do otherwise would be unthinkable. We don’t shrink from the task at hand. We embrace the challenge and see in this an opportunity to dedicate UTMB anew. We set our sights ahead.
In the aftermath of the storm, an extraordinary outpouring of support has come in from many different corners of the country. Words of encouragement have also poured in. And a generosity of spirit and resources continues to grow. So many have asked the simple question: “How can I help?”
Your generous gift will help us address many of our most immediate needs in the aftermath of the storm. By giving us the flexibility we need to respond to challenges yet to come, your support is the promise of the university’s future.
See the CONTRIBUTION OPTIONS box to the right-hand side of the screen for several options to make your contribution to the UTMB Hurricane Recovery Fund.
