Established in 1995, the
Heritage Council comprises UTMB
friends who recognize the importance of and support the long-term
mission of the university. Their commitment is clearly reflected in each planned gift or endowment that members create to ensure the continued heritage of UTMB—its
schools, hospitals, institutes and programs.
Membership in the Heritage Council also confers valuable benefits
to its members. For details about such benefits and for more
information about qualifying gifts, such as bequests, charitable
remainder trusts, pooled income fund participation, gift annuities,

How can I qualify for Heritage Council membership?
1. You may qualify by including a bequest benefiting UTMB in your
will.
2. You can enter into a life income plan, such as a charitable
remainder trust, with the gift residuary passing to UTMB at maturity.
3. You may purchase a life insurance policy with UTMB as beneficiary
or assigning an existing policy to UTMB.
4. You may qualify for membership by giving cash or appreciated assets,
such as property or stock, to fund a named endowment, or by pledging to do
so.
