DISTINCTIONS

  • On August 1999, Diversified Medical Management (DMM) a consulting organization that analyzes the efficiency and effectiveness of medical practices and clinic systems, was brought on campus to evaluate several programs, including RMCHP. DMM offered strong praise of the program: The RMCHP provides a substantial community benefit by improving the health outcomes of thousands of women and children in southeastern Texas who would otherwise have limited access to healthcare. Although this benefit is not easily quantified, the patient satisfaction level, as measure by current surveys, is high. Patient satisfaction and access to health care appear to be the result of the sincere dedication of the management team to the program s mission.  Diversified Management also pointed out that “the unique nature of the RMCHP is such that there is not a national benchmarking resource readily available to provide comparative performance data.”
