The Military Medical Students Association (MMSA) is having a drive to support our troops overseas, and we were hoping that the UTMB Community will help make our mission a success!
The Landstuhl Hospital Care Project (LHCP) is a non-profit organization that provides comfort and relief items for military members who become sick, injured, or wounded from service in Iraq, Kuwait, and Afghanistan.Donated items are distributed to patients at Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany; to field hospitals in Afghanistan and Iraq; and to VA facilities throughout the United States.
This year we are supporting the hospitals and soldiers in the Middle East, and there is a box in John Sealy Hospital (1st floor lobby area) to drop off your items. A list of needed items is on this box and ranges from hygiene items, clothing, snacks, and monetary donations.
If you would like to donate a smaller box of items as a group with your office or department, please contact Amy Lowry (aklowry@utmb.edu), and the MMSA will get a small box set up in your lunch/break room within a day.
Thank you for your support! Please drop your items off by Friday, December 14th.
