TRS Member Contribution Rate Changes Effective Sept. 1

In May 2013, the 83rd Texas Legislature, Regular Session, approved Senate Bill 1458- “TRS Benefits and Contributions” which requires contribution rates for TRS active members to increase from the current 6.4% to 6.7% in fiscal year 2015.
Effective September 1, 2014, 6.7% of eligible compensation will be deducted from your paycheck for TRS. Eligible compensation includes, but is not limited to, the following:
·        Regular salaries and wages
·        Overtime
·        Longevity Pay
·        Vacation Leave taken
·        Sick Leave taken
·        Comp Time taken
