University hosted special presidential visit
UTMB
recently hosted a special roundtable session called by President George W.
Bush. The president visited Galveston to discuss his proposals for
Social Security
reform. The meeting, which took place April 26, is one in a series
taking place across the country, and the first visit to Texas on this topic.
As a public institution, UTMB was honored to have the president on our
campus. It is our privilege to have a role in the public debate of an
important national issue affecting every American. The president’s visit to
Galveston and to the state’s oldest academic health center was a tremendous
honor and opportunity for our campus and community.
