Michael R. Shriner, AIA

Mr. Shriner holds bachelor degrees in Architecture and Construction Management as well as a master’s degree in Business Administration and is a licensed architect. He was the founder and principle for 15 years in Schoenleber, Shriner Associates--an architectural and project management firm. For five years he served as campus architect for the University of Nebraska Medical Center where he directed major facilities improvements for the clinical transplant programs and the Epply Cancer Institute. Since 1993, Mr. Shriner has been responsible for the campus planning and construction at the University of Texas Medical Branch, an academic medical center of 100 buildings, 7 million square feet and housing over 800 hospital beds. In 2000, Mr. Shriner was asked to assume oversight of maintenance, police, and safety functions as well. In his current role as vice president for facilities and campus services, Shriner will add the auxiliary enterprises activities to his responsibilities and serve as the institution's responsible officer for federally restricted research. |
