BILIRUBIN (DELTA), serum (087-0567) CPT 4 Code: 82143 Order Test Mnemonic: BILI DELTA Test Includes: Bu/Bc, Total Bilirubin, Calculated Delta Bilirubin Lab: Clinical Chemistry Request Form: Routine Chemistry Form 1 Collection: Routine venipuncture Storage Instructions: Centrifuge the specimen to separate serum from cells within 2 hours of collection and protect from light. Refrigerate serum at 2-8°C. Causes for Rejection: Hemolysis, improperly labeled specimen, specimen QNS, sample not processed and stored appropriately. Availability: Samples are received 24 hrs per day at Sample Management, Room 5.136 McCullough. Turnaround Time: Routine: 4 hours; STAT: 1 hour Special Instructions: Protect from light. May use aluminum foil or amber colored tube to protect from light.
