Methodology:

Chemilumenescent Microparticle Immunoassay

Performed:

 Daily: 7am – 3:00 pm

Turnaround Time:

All Samples: 2 hours; Test is performed daily (0700 - 1500 pm).

Specimen Requirements: Collect: 3 mL Lavender topped tube (EDTA) ; Collect trough level 12-18 hours after oral dose for chronic usage, 12 hours after intravenous dose, or immediately prior to next dose. (Min: 200 uL).

Specimen Preparation:  Do not centrifuge specimen.

Storage/Transport: Deliver specimen to Sample Management after collection. 

Stability:  Refrigerated for ≤ 7 days.

Causes for Rejection:  Incorrect vacutainer tube, clotted sample, incomplete and/or incorrect sample identification, improper storage/transport.  
Clinical Information:

If applicable, state clinical information that is required to be provided with specimen.

Reference Range:

When ordering tests for which Medicare or Medicaid reimbursement will be sought, physicians should only order tests that are medically necessary for the diagnosis or treatment of the patient.  Components of the organ or disease panels may be ordered individually.  The diagnostic information must substantiate all tests ordered and must be in the form of an ICD-9 code or its verbal equivalent.
