Collection: Routine venipuncture. Blood should be
collected 12 hours after initiating lidocaine therapy, daily during lidocaine treatment
and at least every 12 hours in patients with hepatic insufficiency.
Storage Instructions: Refrigerate (2-8C). Centrifuge
the specimen, remove serum from red cells within 4 hours of collection; refrigerate serum.
Causes for Rejection: Blood collected in a SST/gel
separator tube

at Sample Management, Room 5.136 McCullough.
