Specimen Requirements:

Collect:  Routine venipuncture.  Red-topped tube

Storage/Transport: Centrifuge the specimen, remove the serum from red cells and refrigerate immediately at 2 - 8 °C.

Causes for Rejection:  Serum not separated from cells within 4 hours after collection. Sample drawn in SST.
