Centrifuge the specimen to separate the serum from red cells and refrigerate 2-8°C for up
to 7 days, -20°C for longer storage.
Causes for Rejection: Gross hemolysis, lipemia,
insufficient volume, sample not labeled appropriately.
Availability: Samples are received 24 hrs per day at
Sample Management, Room 5.136 McCullough.
Turnaround Time: Routine: 24 hrs; test performed 8AM
- 5PM Monday - Friday.

Volume: 7 mL blood; Pediatric - 1 mL
Minimum Volume: 3 mL blood or 0.5mL of serum.
