Applies To: Cancer Antigen 27.29 (CA 27.29) is an vitro diagnostic test for the quantitative serial determination in human serum. The test is intended for use as an aid in monitoring patients previously treated for Stage II or Stage III breast cancer.

Collection: Routine venipuncture

Storage Instructions: Centrifuge, store serum at 2-8º C and deliver to lab within 24 hours. If delayed more than 24 hours, freeze serum.

Interfering Substances: Heterophilic antibodies in human serum can react with reagent I immunoglobulins interfering with in vitro immunoassays. Patient routinely exposed to animals or to animal serum products can be prone to this interference and anomalous values may be observed.
