If delayed more than 24 hours, freeze serum. Causes for Rejection: Blood collected in any anticoagulated tube. Availability: Samples are received 24 hours per day. Turnaround Time: 24 - 48 hours. Specimen: Blood Volume: 7 mL blood Special Instructions: The test can be ordered only once per patient admission for inpatients and once per month for outpatients. Additional requests must have the approval of the laboratory director. Due to change in instrumentation, SERUM only can be accepted to run this test.
