Macroduct collection/chloridometer titration

Collection TAT within 48 hours (inpatients); Analysis TAT is same day of collection
Specimen Requirements:

Collect:  Iontophoresis.  Sweat collection performed by clinical chemistry laboratory technologist. (Min. Volume 15 uL)

Specimen Preparation: Sweat specimen collected after pilocarpine iontophoresis (chemical stimulation)

Causes for Rejection: QNS specimen and bandage covering collection site becomes non-occlusive during collection period.

If applicable, state clinical information that is required to be provided with specimen.
Reference Range:

By report (reports may vary based on instrumentation, patient age and sex)
Note:

Test must be scheduled with the clinical chemistry laboratory. Call  extension 29222.  Test is only performed on Monday through Friday from 9am to 1pm.

When ordering tests for which Medicare or Medicaid reimbursement will be sought, physicians should only order tests that are medically necessary for the diagnosis or treatment of the patient.  Components of the organ or disease panels may be ordered individually.  The diagnostic information must substantiate all tests ordered and must be in the form of an ICD-9 code or its verbal equivalent.
