AutoCyteTM Prep Thin-Layer Cervical Sample - Cytology
Synonyms: Liquid-based Pap, Mono-Layer Pap, Thin-Layer Pap, AutoCyte Prep Applies To: Detection of abnormal and malignant cervical cells Lab: Cytopathology Laboratory Request Form: Cytopathology Requisition Form Collection: Click here for procedure on collection of Autocyte Prep Thin- Layer Cervical Sample Storage Instructions: Specimen must be stored in the CytoRich® preservative vial either at room temperature or in the refrigerator (4-6C) up to two weeks. Causes for Rejection: Incomplete and/or improper labeling, insufficient pertinent clinical history, specimen not fixed on immediately. See the Cytopathology specimens acceptance and rejection policy. See Medicare Compliance for submitting Medicare Pap Smears. Availability: Specimens are accepted Monday-Friday from 8 AM-5 PM (except holidays) at Room 9.300, John Sealy Annex. Turnaround Time: Routine: 3-5 working days; STAT: same day Special Instructions: Pertinent clinical information must be included on request Form. Preservative vial with patient's specimen must be labeled with patient's full name and unit history number.
