Storage Instructions: Slides should be fixed in 95% alcohol.
Causes for Rejection: Incomplete and/or improper labeling, insufficient pertinent clinical history, specimen not fixed on slide immediately. See the Cytopathology specimens acceptance and rejection policy.
Availability: Specimens are accepted Monday-Friday from 8 AM-5 PM (except holidays) at Room 9.300 John Sealy Annex.
Turnaround Time: Routine: 3-5 working days; STAT: same day
Special Instructions: Pertinent clinical information must be included on request Form. Slides must be labeled in pencil (frosted end) with patient's full name and unit history number. Please read the Cytopathology specimens acceptance and rejection policy and the instructions for Medicare compliance.
