Amniotic fluid should be delivered as soon as possible. If immediate delivery is not
possible, fluid can be stored at room temperature or refrigerated. It should not be
frozen or exposed to temperature extremes. Causes for Rejection:
Failure to discard first 2 cc of amniotic fluid, missing or incomplete paperwork,
unlabelled tubes, insufficient sample, frozen sample Availability: Samples are
received 8 AM - 4:30 PM, Monday-Friday, at Clinical Cytogenetics Laboratory, Children's
Hospital, Suite # 3.350. Turnaround Time: 15 days
Special Instructions: Contact Cytogenetics
Laboratory at X23466 or X23465. Deliver sample to Children's Hospital, Suite # 3.350.
