Test Order Mnemonic: C WBC

Test Includes: Observation of leukocytes (WBC) in gram stain preparation

Lab: Bacteriology

Request Form: Microbiology

Collection: Collect feces in a sterile container. Collection of fecal swab is acceptable.

Storage Instructions: Refrigerate.

Causes for Rejection: Leaking specimen, submission of more than one specimen per day, formed specimens

Availability: Samples are accepted 24 hours per day at the Microbiology Processing Laboratory, Room 5.137 McCullough.

Turnaround Time: 1 day

Special Instructions: The test can be ordered only once per day unless approved by a Microbiology Director or designee.
