Applies to: Parasite identification of intestinal or other body cavity worms and/or parasite segments

Lab: Parasitology

Request Form: Microbiology

Storage Instructions: Preserve specimen in 70% alcohol and store at room temperature.

Availability: Samples are accepted 24 hours per day at the Microbiology Processing Laboratory, Room 5.137 McCullough.

Turnaround Time: 1 day; test performed Monday-Friday

Special Instructions: Submit as large a segment as possible; include patient history if possible.

Specimen: Adult worms or worm segments

Container: Clean, leak proof container
