Specimen Requirements: Patient Preparation: Routine venipuncture or midstream urine

Collect: PPT (white top) tube or urine sample

Specimen Preparation: Within four hours of collection, centrifuge PPT tube at 1000g for 15 minutes. No specimen prep required for urine sample.

Storage/Transport: Store refrigerated or frozen

Stability: 24 hours

Causes for Rejection: Incomplete or incorrect sample identification, insufficient sample collection, gross hemolysis, incorrect tube type

The reportable range for this assay is 2.6-8.6 log copies/mL or 390-3.9x10^8 copies/mL.
Note:

 Submit one PPT tube for each molecular assay requested due to volume needs for testing.
