Collection: Routine venipuncture

Storage Instructions: Allow to clot. Centrifuge at 1000 g for 10 minutes. Remove serum and store serum at 2-8°C (for up to 7 days, -20°C for longer).

Causes for Rejection: Unlabeled specimen, insufficient volume

Availability: Samples must be delivered to Pediatric Immunology/Allergy, 8 AM-5 PM, Monday-Friday, Room C2.360, Children's Hospital.

Turnaround Time: Routine: 4 days

Special Instructions: Must specify which antigen is to be studied and whether the sample is pre or post immunization

Specimen: Blood

Volume: 5.0 ml whole blood; or 1 ml serum

Minimum Volume: 3.0 ml whole blood or 0.75 ml serum
