Storage Instructions: Deliver immediately; room temperature.

Causes for Rejection: Unlabeled specimen, insufficient volume, clotted sample, sample too old

Availability: Samples MUST be delivered to Pediatric Immunology/Allergy, 8:00 AM-Noon, Monday-Friday, Room C2.360, Children's Hospital.  PRIOR NOTIFICATION IS REQUIRED.

Turnaround Time: Routine: 24 hours

Special Instructions: Must call ahead (409-772-2658) to schedule test; need a normal control drawn and sent at same time.  Deliver immediately (cells die after 2-4 hours).

Specimen: Blood

Volume: 7 mL blood

Minimum Volume: 5 mL blood

Container: Green-topped (heparin) vacutainer
