Incident Response:

  • Novel H1N1 Influenza A Virus - April-May 2009
    Coordinated flu specimen submission with Montgomery County physicians' offices and the regional laboratory in Houston
    Collaborated with education and health officials to recommend infection control measures and facility closures in county school and child care facilities
    Worked with County Judge's Office and the Office of Emergency Management to release public information regarding the outbreak

  • Full-scale mass vaccination exercise with school and hospital nurses

  • Site activation and call down functional exercise with administrators and law enforcement representatives from six Montgomery County sPoint of Dispensing (POD)sites - June 2009

     Coordinated health and medical resources from Montgomery County EOC
     Provided free tetanus shots to protect those engaging in debris removal
     Obtained and provided free flu vaccinations for community clinics and residents
