Volunteers: Opportunities
New and experienced Public Health Volunteers are invited to participate in interactive, web-based trainings being launched during Summer 2008. Sessions will include video clips, classroom-style instruction, and games, all of which give volunteers an opportunity to increase their knowlege and response experience from the comfort of their homes or offices. Advanced POD trainings are designed for Public Health Volunteers who have a thorough understanding of POD operations and the SNS and who have participated in mass dispensing exercises. The advanced session will focus on refining operational roles and responsibilities in a POD and will teach participants how to operate a Volunteer POD prior to mass dispensing operations. All sessions are free and include a boxed lunch. To request a private training, please contact us via one of the following methods: E-mail – info.mchd@utmb.edu If you have not yet registered to be a Public Health Volunteer, you may also complete and submit the Public Health Volunteer Application with your registration. |
