Mateo, Rosa

Rosa's interest in Infectious Diseases when she was a medical student in her native country, Peru. There she was exposed to the most challenging situations. Looking for better opportunities to develop clinical and research skills after she came to U.S. She is expecially interested in trying to understand the effect of immunosuppression in the development of infections. Her motivation for this specific area is based on the increasing number of patients undergoing chemotherapy or organ transplantation, both predisposing conditions for the development of more severe infections than in the general population.
