Postdoctoral TrainingThe Department of Neuroscience and Cell Biology casts its vision on understanding biological structure and function from molecular structure. Faculty research is focused in the following areas: protein transactions in nerve and muscle, developmental neurobiology, molecular biophysics and structural biology of membrane proteins including signal transduction pathways, neural mechanisms and pain, molecular and cellular mechanisms of neuronal injury and inflammation, and molecular cell biology with special emphasis on the liver and cardiovascular system. Investigation uses organisms from C. elegans, urusophila, and Aplysia to laboratory mammals and humans. Interdisciplinary postdoctoral training is available in all of these areas. Highly qualified postdoctoral candidates are encouraged to write to the department. The Department of Neuroscience and Cell Biology offers excellent salary and benefits packages, including full health/dental insurance and retirement plans. Applicants should address their request directly to the individual faculty members of the Department. | |||||
