UTMB Department of Neurology

The brain is the last frontier of the human body. It is not only the center of motor and sensory functions, but also the organ of memory, intelligence, language, emotion, and spirit. While diagnostically interesting, neurologists used to have therapeutically little to offer to our patients. However, recent advances in neurosciences have raised a new way to think about NEUROLOGY. Changes are already happening, and we have started to challenge the “non-curable” diseases. The Department of Neurology at UTMB has an outstanding track record of practicing and teaching neurology, and we are committed to advancing the knowledge about diseases of the brain, and other parts of the nervous system to make a difference in human life.
