In this guest column by UTMB’s Larry Denner and Kelly Dineley: During aging, many people experience diminished control over blood glucose levels and the ability to produce or use insulin properly. This is called insulin resistance, which puts the elderly at risk for type 2 diabetes and may add to their risk for other age-related diseases.
